Polly Pocket (character)

Polly Pocket is the main character in this series. She is voiced by Tegan Moss (2004-2006) and Sue Thorpe (2010-2017). She is ten years old. In the original Spanish dub, she is voiced by Monica Valencia. She is the lead singer in Polly and the Pockets and plays guitar.

Personality[]

Polly loves helping people. She is also an active preteen girl, constantly moving around a lot. Even though her father is wealthy, she is incredibly kind to her friends and other people and puts her needs aside for others. Polly loves animals, traveling, sports, and fashion. Polly says, Who needs perfect when you've got friends?. She is described as confident, cool, friendly, optimistic, adventurous, resourceful, and loyal. She loves having fun, adventures, and, importantly, friends. She has many hobbies, such as roller skating, water skiing, snowboarding, shopping, listening to music, and singing. Polly has a fun and cool fashion style. Polly is the character in the 2004 series. She is voiced by Tegan Moss.

Physical Appearance[]

Polly's physical appearance is as vibrant as her personality. She often styles long, blonde hair in a ponytail, held together with a pink scrunchie. Her fair skin tone and dark baby-blue eyes add to her charm. However, her hairstyle can change depending on the set she comes with, from pigtails to a shorter cut. Like the other dolls, her hair can be plastic or nylon. Polly's fashion sense is as colorful as her hair, with her wardrobe featuring a rainbow of bright colors, including pink, yellow, and purple.

In Lunar Eclipse, she was seen wearing different outfits: a blue shirt, White jeans, sunglasses and sandals with a purse, a white blouse, a purple vest, a black and white skirt, and shoes, a Green Sweatshirt, a blue skirt, and brown boots.

As a mermaid, Polly's ponytail is held together with an orange scrunchie, and her bangs sweep towards her right side. She wears a sandy green bikini top and a matching cover-up with mint-colored polka dots. As a mermaid, her tail is deep purple with three pink flowers, with the fourth one in a random position on her top. When she goes underwater, her tail turns pink, and her flowers turn yellow.

Family[]

Polly's family is wealthy, including her father, John Pocket, who is a widower. At a young age, she lost her mother, Emily Pocket, leaving Polly with her father. As a result, Polly loved him deeply, although she couldn't receive the attention she desired as John was always busy. Polly maintains a close bond with her butler, Samuel, and considers him a father figure whom she can talk to when her father is not around. In Polly-Tastic Adventure, long before she passed, her mother was a world historian passionate about ancient Egypt.

Polly has a little sister, Kate, in Sister Style, but she wasn't mentioned or seen in the Polly Pocket movies.

Her father's ex-fiancée, Lorelei, in the movie "PollyWorld," was going to be Polly's stepmother. But she doesn't want to raise Polly and wants John to herself as she is highly jealous of Polly for having her father's affection, so she plots to get rid of Polly by tricking John into thinking his daughter needs structure as her life is stressful, which was a lie. John agreed, and he called a boarding school to take Polly after the contest was over. However, during Polly's performance, Beth, with whom Lorelei was in an association to sabotage Polly's team and get rid of her, brings Lorelei to the sound booth. She threatens Lorelei to make sure her team wins the competition, or she'll tell John about Lorelei's true intentions of sending Polly away, as Lorelei was not keeping her end of the bargain to help Beth achieve fame as she promised. Unbeknownst to them both was that they were live from the sound booth, and everyone heard Lorelei's confession, including Polly and John, causing John to confront her for what she thought of his daughter and staff and call off their engagement, leaving Lorelei devastated that her plans have failed.

Polly also has a British cousin named Pia and an aunt from England. Pia and Polly look very much alike, and they become close.

Animated Series[]

In the animated TV series, Polly's grandmother, Penelope Pocket, gives her a magic locket that allows her to change from big to small.

Pets[]

Polly has a dog named Ollie in 2 Cool At the Pocket Plaza, Polly and the Makeover Mess and Polly's Fabulous Pet Palace. It first appeared as a white female Yorkshire terrier with a bow on her fur, but then appears to be a male grey and white boxer in the books. She also has a horse in Polly and the Perfect Pets as well as several others in Dazzlin' Pet Show, Glitz & Glam Pets and Sparklin' Pets.
