Summary[]
With Polly's perfect planning, how could the unveiling of the Fabulous Pet Palace be anything but Pollyrific? Unfortunately, Beth has other plans...
Plot[]
Polly called her friends, Shani, Lila, Lea, and Rick, over at the mall for a secret powwow. It was the week before Super Saturday, and the town was turning out for parades, picnics, and parties, so Polly thought it was perfect timing to launch the grand opening of Polly's Polly's Fabulous Pet Palace to showcase their new line of pet jewelry, the pet playground with the puppy pool and the pet makeover parlor. Of course, they will need a fabulicious plan for the opening to grab everyone's attention. Samuel, Polly's butler, suggested a doggy tea party. Still, Polly laughed and said Ollie isn't crazy about tea, and then Shani's parrot rainbow began squawking rhymes, "Sugar, cupcakes, spice, and tea. I love the boys, and the boys love me", something Shani had been teaching to recite jump rope which gave Polly an idea, a pet talent show. Shani could teach Rainbow a new jump rope rhyme, Lea could have her new monkey pet, Hopscotch, swing by his tail from the jungle gym, Rick could have his hamster, Kicker, race on his wheel, and Polly could teach Ollie to jump through a hoop. First, the Pet show, then parties and picnics last is the perfect plan. Although Beth, Polly's rival, and her pals, Evie and Tori, overhear everything and want to turn the plan into a fabulous flop involving Beth's dog, Snarls, to be the top dog and put her at the number 1 spot as the most popular girl in school.
Super Saturday came, and Polly and her friends arrived early at Polly's Fabulous Pet Palace to groom their pets and look their best, and get ready: Kicker was wearing a tiny matching baseball cap like Rick's, Ollie was wearing a glittering new collar, and Lila and her cat Cupcake wearing matching sweaters. After having up the new sign in the window, Lila notice Cupcake wants to sleep and not do tricks, so Polly recommends she will rest by the window for their salon services as a model for people to see her chillin'. Olive noticed Snarls, raced to the door, and barked before Beth pulled him out of sight. She then told Evie and Tori that she had called the television station to film the disaster she had encountered. By noon a supersized crowd gathered at Polly's Fabulous Pet Palace, waiting for the show to start. Rainbow was reciting a jump rope rhyme, "I love coffee, I love tea, A, B, C, D, E, F, G!" when an enormous purple grape came flying through the air unexpectedly by Beth, past Rainbow and hit Cupcake on the head. Rainbow gave a loud squawk and swooped down to grab the grape. Cupcake startled, jumped to her feet, and tipped over Kicker's cage, causing the hamster to scurry out and race through the store with Cupcake behind.
Rainbow gulped down the grape, jumped on Kicker's wheel, and began singing another rhyme spinning faster and faster. "A lemon, a lime, you better be on time when the school bell rings at quarter to nine!" causing the crowd to roar with laughter. Kicker scurried up one end of the seesaw in the pet playground when Cupcake leaped on the other end, sending the hamster flying up to Rainbow's perch, clinging terrified for a moment before diving into a bag of dog food. Hopscotch jumped up and down, scolding. Rainbow skated down a slide into the puppy pool with a big splash hanging another rhyme, "Whee! Yippee! Look at me! A, B, C, D, E, F, G!" and the crowd cheered. Hopscotch leaped up to an overhead rafter and swung by his tail, making the children in the crowd shriek with laughter. The monkey trilled, enjoying the attention before dropping down to a shelf, tipping over a box of dazzling pet jewels, and a tiny gold crown spun through the air, landing right on top of Rainbow's head! The crowd exploded into cheering, shouting, and applause. "This is the most amazing pet show I've ever seen!" "Totally unbelievable!" Polly noticed a television crew standing by with cameras, and her face fell, she tried explaining the pet show was a major disaster, but someone told her it was a masterpiece and they were on live tv. Polly and her friends jump up and down excitedly, much to Snarls and Beth's dismay. Finally, the television show producer stepped forward and asked how they managed to stage a fabulous pet show, and Rainbow flew onto Shani's shoulder, chanting a rhyme, "I love coffee, I love tea! Perfect planning is the key!"
